It's so convoluted because I started with uncommon ring-sizes(12ga 1"id), did a bit of a weave, connected the ends, connected that to the stem and the mobius ball in the middle (to give me a sense of 'this side up', and then played at it for hours and hours. Each of these things must take me anywhere from four to ten hours, depending on how dedicated I feel and when my personal 'due date' is.
In those hours I flip around, remove, undo, replace, redo, restart, and so forth so often that each one that I have, while you could replicate it by studying it, I consider them to be unique enough to be considered actually unique.
I have considered making some from a basic pattern and selling those, though what I would want to charge might be a bit pricy for most people....
ah well, I ramble for far too long when I talk about chainmail.
p.s. I have never used these emoticons on my right...I may have clicked on one by accident...I tend not to use them.
